Cambodia is a lovely country which I have been lucky enough to travel to a couple of times. The temples are jaw droppingly stunning, the scenery beautiful, and the people are Super friendly. However this is not a rich country, many of the people are extremely poor and there is no National Health Service. If the old or the young fall ill that can be a major problem as many families can't afford the treatement.

Thats why Josh, Nicky and I are all running the 10km run in Siem Reap in Cambodia early December, Josh is all set to beat his time from the summer, Nicky has trained through her vertigo, and I've been training 3 times a week for the last 2-3 months (as I'm definitely not a runner- Mo Farah doesn't need to worry!).

We are running as part of my employers team, "Team Manulife", who are sponsoring the Angkor Wat International Half Marathon in Cambodia, and we want to raise money for the Angkor Hospital for Children.

Funds raised will support two of the hospital’s programmes — the cardiac surgical programme and the malnutrition programme — to help children in Cambodia live longer, healthier lives.

The funds will ensure more children born with congenital heart defects will get the life-saving  surgery they need. The funds will also support the month-long re-feeding program for patients with severe malnutrition while providing cooking and nutrition classes to  caregivers to prevent relapse.
